Japanese economy is said to be rebounded as of the late last November, and it’s 58 months in a row. However, for town, it has been strained circumstances yet.
We prepare for such difficult situation and work from the ground up to build newer Jimokuji. To realize this, we, administrators and residents, need to get together to work for it. For examples, strengthening of cooperation and ties with local communities, volunteers, NPO would be needed. In addition, “administrative and financial reform”, included business approach has moved ahead on toward improving associations. I declare to deal with problems to my full extent such as “Education”, “Community integration”, and “Public Byoubyouin hospital”
Lastly, thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Let me close my remarks by express my sincerest greeting for success of building our town.

Transition
It is said that people first came to this place because here the Kiso River deposited a great deal of sand , creating an area of raised land. In this area ,ruins from as far back as the Yayoi period have been excavated. The name Jimokuji originated in the Kamakura period. During the Edo period,Jimokuji was famous as a district where peasants produced an abundance of vegetables. Jimokuji became a village in 1906,and became a town on August 1,1932.
